  • HIV/AIDS Awareness & Testing Among Highlight Events for 2nd Annual Tim Richmond Memorial 200 ARCA Race

    Mooresville, NC (May 19th, 2010):

On June 20th 2009, the ARCA RE/MAX Series visited the Mansfield MotoThe HIV Testing Team at the 2009 Tim Richmond Memorial 200rsports Park for the 1st Annual Tim Richmond Memorial 200.  The event paid tribute to NASCAR Legend, Tim Richmond whose successful NASCAR career was cut short due to complications from AIDS in 1989.

Fans who attended the 2009 event were treated to not only a beautiful day of racing & excitement, but exposure to a brand new health initiative aimed at increasing awareness of HIV & AIDS in our communities.

G-Force Motorsports Marketing, the motorsports arm of The Goddard Marketing Group teamed up with the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Rural AIDS Advisory Group and Richland Health to offer free HIV tests for drivers, team & fans at the event.  When the testing event was complete, over 140 fans had taken a quick oral swab HIV test.

The legacy of Tim Richmond will be remembered again this year, as the 2nd Annual ARCA Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA RE/MAX 200 will take place on Saturday, July 17th, 2010.

As a tribute to the legend, The alliance of partners will once again be hosting an HIV/AIDS awareness and free testing event at the track from 2:00-6:00 pm EST on the day of the race.

ARCA Competitor, Tim George Jr takes part in the free HIV oral swab testing at the 2009 eventThe Goddard Marketing Group President, Jeff Goddard commented on the event “When we kicked off the HIV testing event in 2009, we were cautiously optimistic that our responses would be positive.  I know the topic of HIV & AIDS can be intimidating because it is a subject of controversy . . . many just prefer not to talk about it, much less have it thrown in the mix at a stock car race.  But, I could not have scripted a better response from the fans last June at Mansfield.  Fans of all ages & backgrounds lined up to be tested, and when we closed off the testing at 6:00, 140 fans knew their status.  Of course, many would argue that a free t-shirt was the incentive that lured many to step up to the plate, but that is a small price to pay to get the kind of results we achieved.”

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that over one million people in the United States are infected with HIV.  Approximately one-fourth (24-27%) of the infected individuals are believed to be unaware of their infection.  CDC statistics highlight the need for expanded testing opportunities for the American public.

Therefore, in addition to the HIV/AIDS information booth at the track, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Rural AIDS Advisory Group and Richland Health will be conducting HIV testing on site at the track with the OraQuick ADVANCE(R) Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody test.

OraQuick ADVANCE(R) is the first and only FDA-approved and CLIA-waived rapid point-of-care test that can detect antibodies to both HIV-1 and HIV-2 in 20 minutes, using oral fluid, finger-stick or venipuncture whole blood or plasma specimens.  OraQuick ADVANCE(R) is used extensively throughout the country in public health settings, hospitals, community-based organizations, and physician offices where HIV testing is conducted, because of its ease of use, high accuracy and rapid results.

The free oral swab testing will be conducted from 2:00-700pm at the track.  Information and counseling will be available for anyone seeking more information.

The Mansfield Motorsports Park has also announced a promotion for Ohio residents to receive a family four pack of tickets for ½ price with your valid Ohio drivers license.  Contact the speedway for more details.

For interview requests, partnership/sponsorship information OR interest in hosting future HIV awareness and testing events at motorsports venues across the United States, please contact Jeff Goddard at G-Force Motorsports Marketing @ 704.239.5553 or jeff@goddardmarketinggroup.com.  You can also visit www.goddardmarketinggroup.com to discover how your business can benefit from a partnership in motorsports.

    About Tim Richmond

For those who follow the sport of auto racing, Tim Richmond is known as a highly successful driver whose life was cut short due to the AIDS virus in 1989.  Tim competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series (currently the Sprint Cup Series) and was one of Hendrick Motorsports most successful drivers, launching the team to contender status while still in its infancy.

Although voted one of “The 50 Greatest NASCAR Drivers”, many fans are in the dark regarding Richmond’s great contributions to the sport.

While some would argue Richmond’s lack of notoriety is a result of insufficient media coverage of the sport and his death in the 1980’s,  some still maintain that it was the simple unknown surrounding the AIDS virus in 1987 that contributed to his forgotten legacy.   So, join us in remembering a motorsports legend.

SEMA SECURES U.S. SENATE RESOLUTION DESIGNATING JULY 9th AS “COLLECTOR CAR APPRECIATION DAY”

Lawmakers Acknowledge Importance of Collection and Restoration of Historic and Classic Cars

(Washington, D.C. - May 7, 2010) The United States Senate passed Senate The SEMA Action NetworkResolution 513 (S. Res. 513) at the request of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and the Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) Council designating July 9, 2010 as “Collector Car Appreciation Day.”  The resolution was the result of an effort undertaken by ARMO as a means to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.

    S. Res. 513 was sponsored by Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus members Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC).  Senators Tester and Burr have been strong advocates for the automotive hobby in Washington, and S. Res. 513 reaffirms their understanding of the cultural importance of collector cars.  The Caucus is an informal, non-partisan group that pays tribute to America’s ever growing love affair with the car and motorsports.  The Caucus recognizes the integral role collector cars have played in fostering our nation’s appreciation for motorsports.

The resolution was the result of an effort undertaken by SEMA and its councils as a means to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.  Restoration businesses help save our nation’s heritage while providing well-paying, high-skilled jobs nationwide.

SEMA Vice President of Government Affairs Steve McDonald said, “We greatly appreciate the United States Senate’s recognition of the important role classic car restoration serves in our country.  As Americans gather at car cruises and other events in conjunction with ‘Collector Car Appreciation Day’ on July 9, these vital contributions will be honored and preserved.”

In recognition of the day, collectors and enthusiasts will be hosting events across the country.  Jim Barber, Chairman of SEMA’s Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) Council said, “Individuals, car clubs, and businesses affiliated with ARMO are proud to be recognized as leaders in today’s economy.  Car cruises, club gatherings, and other educational events will be scheduled for July 9 nationwide.  ARMO is looking forward to assisting with these events and is appreciative of this special acknowledgment by the Senate.”

Dennis Overholser, Chairman of SEMA’s Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) Council said, “HRIA’s commitment to preserving and promoting the automotive restoration industry through its projects and education programs is well represented by this Resolution.  We are pleased that our elected officials have acknowledged our positive presence in local communities.  I look forward to working with other business owners, collectors, and enthusiasts to make the inaugural ‘Collector Car Appreciation Day’ a success nationwide.”

As part of “Collector Car Appreciation Day,” a variety of events are currently being scheduled to commemorate America’s time-tested love affair with the automobile.  For a listing of events, please contact Jim Skelly, SEMA Council Director at 909.396.0289.

Tim George Jr. participates in health conscious test at Mansfield

    Tim George, Jr.
June 25, 2009 – 7:08 pm      Last weekend’s Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA Tim George, Jr. RE/MAX 200, held at Mansfield Motorsports Park, was about more than just racing. It was also about honoring the memory of the late Richmond. Named in his honor, the race was not only a tribute to his on-track talent but also provided an opportunity to bring awareness to the HIV/AIDS disease that claimed his life in 1989 at the age of 34

Though Richmond was a proven racer on track, winning an Indianapolis 500 and 13 Sprint Cup (then the Winston Cup) Series events, his legacy is bestowed not only in his racing accomplishments but also by bringing awareness to the disease that claimed his life.

In doing so, Mansfield Motorsports Park, in conjunction with G-Force Motorsports Marketing and Goddard Marketing, partnered with OraSure Technologies Inc., the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Rural AIDS Advisory Group and other local health departments, to hold an HIV/AIDS awareness and testing booth at the track prior to the race last Saturday.

The testing was held free of charge to fans and those who participated were entered a random drawing with the reward of a Richard Petty Driving Experience Ride-Along.

In showing his support of the cause and promoting self health awareness, Tim George Jr., who drives the No. 2 Ruby Tuesday/Chrome Hearts Toyota for Eddie Sharp Racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, stopped by and participated in the event, also getting tested.

“Between practice and driver introductions I wanted to connect with the fans. I went over to show my support at this new, quick type of AIDS testing, and they had a turnout of over 150 people tested. I think this is great, and I wanted to show people that racecar drivers are human too,” George Jr. said of his participation.

After the health testing event, George Jr. participated in the Tim Richmond Memorial 200 race later that evening, finishing 22nd, falling victim to the perils of short track racing.

Mansfield race aims spotlight at AIDS education

June 18, 2009 – 8:48 pm |    The race is a celebration of the life of Tim Richmond, but it’s also raising awareness about his death.

Richmond, an Ashland native who was named one of NASCAR’s 50 greatest drivers, died from AIDS 20 years ago. At the ARCA RE/MAX Series race named after him on Saturday, race promoter and longtime Richmond friend Joe Mattioli, along with Mansfield Motorsports Park owner Mike Dzurilla, want to do something positive in the late racer’s memory.

The Ohio Department of Health as well as the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department and the Ohio Rural AIDS Advisory Group will have a booth at the track from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday where it will give HIV rapid tests with results in 20 minutes. There will also be brochures available at no charge.

Mansfield Motorsports Park Event Combines Auto Racing, a Salute To a Fallen Racing Legend & HIV/AIDS Awareness & Testing

Mooresville, NC (June 14th, 2009)    On June 20th at Mansfield Motorsports Park, fans will experience more than just a day full of blood pumping, auto racing.  When the ARCA RE/MAX competitors come to town, visitors to the track will help pay tribute to fallen auto racing hero and Ohio native Tim Richmond. Fans will also be invited to participate in a brand new motorsports health awareness campaign focused on HIV/AIDS awareness and testing.

The ARCA RE/MAX race, fittingly named the Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA RE/MAX 200 will take place on Saturday night, following a full afternoon of festivities at the track.

As a tribute to the legend, G-Force Motorsports Marketing, The Goddard Marketing Group and Venturini Motorsports have teamed up with OraSure Technologies Inc., the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Rural AIDS Advisory Group and Richland health to promote HIV and AIDS awareness in the racing community.  The alliance of partners will be hosting a HIV/AIDS awareness and free testing event at the track from 2:00-6:00 pm EST on the day of the race.

In the Tim Richmond Memorial ARCA RE/MAX 200 race event, Jake Crum has signed to drive for Venturini Motorsports. Jake will be driving the #25 as a tribute to Tim who also piloted the #25 during his successful career at Hendrick Motorsports.  Venturini Motorsports team principal, Billy Venturini commented on the event “I’ve been around racing for many years, and like many in the sport, I believe Tim Richmond helped broaden the markets of motorsports.  He came into the sport from the state of Ohio in a time when most NASCAR drivers called the Carolinas home.  He was about 20 years ahead of his time.   But, it is great to be heading back to the beautiful state of Ohio to celebrate the life and times of a successful NASCAR legend like Tim Richmond.”

He continued “We are also excited to be a part of the HIV/AIDS awareness and testing event because I don’t believe folks realize how many people are affected by this disease.  We see the need for everyone to get tested, so they know their status.  It is quick and easy, and we hope all fans and competitors will take a few minutes to get the facts.”

For interview requests or partnership/sponsorship information of Venturini Motorsports OR future HIV awareness and testing events at motorsports venues across the United States, please contact Jeff Goddard at G-Force Motorsports Marketing @ 704.239.5553 or jeff@goddardmarketinggroup.com.  You can also visit www.goddardmarketinggroup.com to discover how your business can benefit from a partnership in motorsports.

JOHN STANCILL TO RACE WITH PASS AT COASTAL PLAINS

    AYDEN, NC (May 26, 2009)
Young John Stancill will make his first start with the Pro All Star Series (PASS) this year at Coastal Plains raceway on Saturday May 30th.  Stancill will pilot the #20 in the "Salute Our Heroes 150" in Jacksonville, NC

"I'm really excited to be racing, especially at Jacksonville. It seems like I've had a lot of bad luck this year - I've had problems getting my motors ready and we just didn't want to rush things - so we opted out of the first few races.  I took the car to Hickory a few weeks ago to shake it down and it seemed pretty good so I'm really anxious to race it.  I tried to race a legend car a few weeks ago but had a problem with my gear, then I was going to race at Concord last weekend - but that race was rained out  - I'm just ready to race something!"

16 year old Stancill was runner up in the PASS National Points last year and impressed many with a 3rd place finish in his first start in the series at Hickory Motor Speedway.  Stancill will team up with Chase Pistone as his crew chief for the event which will be held Saturday May 30th at PM.

"I feel really confident with Chase as my crew chief.  You know - Chase, Matt, and Stan - Those guys have helped me since I was in legends cars - I just really feel good with them.  I know they all do a really good job and the car will be as good as they can make it.  I just hope the weather cooperates and we get to practice Friday."

John and his brother, Ben are proud spokespersons for Harrisons Hope.  For more information log onto www.harrisonshope.org or www.johnstancill.com.

Ayden, NC (May 19th, 2009)       Ben Stancill, and the #63 MB Motorsports Team traveled to Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the “North Carolina Education Lottery 200” NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race this past weekend. Stancill made a lasting impression on the MB Motorsports Team. “Ben is the real deal and will be a winner”, stated MB Motorsports Team Owner Mike Mittler.

With rain canceling qualifying midway through the session for the 134 lap race at the ultra fast 1.5 mile Speedway, the field was set by Owner’s Points. Ben started the Dolce Vita Entertaining, Mittler Bros. Machine & Tool, Don Shetler Ford F-150 in the 33rd position. Ben patiently worked his way toward the front, running a steady 23rd at the mid-point of the race. With Ben’s valuable feedback, the MB Motorsports crew continued making the necessary adjustments as Ben ran his fastest lap of the race on lap 113. Ben crossed the finish line in 19th place for his 2nd career Top 20 finish in only his 3rd NCWTS start.

"I had such a great experience at Lowe’s with the MB Motorsports Team”, stated Stancill. “I have grown up racing a legend car in the Summer Shootout on the 1/4 mile track at Lowes, but this is the first opportunity I've had to race on the big track. I started the race 33rd due to qualifying being rained out. We continued to improve on the truck throughout the entire race; in fact I turned my fastest lap in the last 20 laps of the race. This is my second race with MB Motorsports, our team chemistry is better, I'm able to communicate with Mr. Mittler better and therefore he’s able to make changes in the truck to make it better. I'm really looking forward to the next race; I think we will continue to improve. I'm so glad we had a top twenty finish and brought the truck home without a scratch on it!"

MB Motorsports has fielded a truck in the NASCAR division since the inaugural 1995 season. 20 Year old Ben Stancill from Ayden, NC joined an elite group of drivers that have driven MB Motorsports Trucks, Including: Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray, Brad Keselowski, Regan Smith, Justin Allgaier, the late Kenny Irwin Jr. and the late Tony Roper.

Kristian Alexis Signs With ATK Motorsports in ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series

'width' is a duplicate attribute name. Line 1, position 37.Mooresville, NC (April 17th, 2009)  G-Force Motorsports Marketing, the motorsports arm of The Goddard Marketing Group is pleased to announce the signing of Kristian Alexis to ATK Motorsports for their ASA Speed Truck Challenge program.

The ASA Speed Truck Challenge series is a west coast focused development series that has seen quite a bit of interest lately from competing NASCAR competitors looking for an avenue to scout development drivers.  The series, which hosts 10-15 races a season competes at famous venues such as Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Irwindale Speedway.

“This is pretty exciting stuff for me right now” stated Kristian “when the current state of the economy kind of trickled down into my former operation and I lost my ride, I was a guy with a lot direction and no where to place it but you’ve got to love it when the cosmos align just right! I was fortunate enough to get picked up by a real stand-up owner in Kevin Smith and ATK Motorsports less than a week after being forced to vacate my seat. The thing I like most about Kevin is our instant rapport. I mean, we have the same sense of humor, the same positive attitude, and the same goals in racing- you can’t buy that in a driver/owner relationship and I think it’ll really translate on the track!”

“Anyone who caught the KGKI Radio ‘Race Report’ with Kevin and I can tell how psyched I am about this deal. Dallas Leininger (former NASCAR Nationwide series crew chief for David Gilliland) is a great set-up man and the entire crew on this #00 machine are more than capable of putting our Chevy Colorado into victory lane. And how about the series? These ASA Speed Trucks are presented by Verve Energy Drink and are extremely similar to those in the NASCAR Camping World Truck series, making it an excellent feeder venue, even more so with all the Cup series development attention it’s been getting. I’m also excited to be a part of such an amazing TV package! With the Ion network broadcasting our races into 5 million homes nationally, you’d be hard pressed to find another pro circuit like it and I’m as eager as Kevin to show all of America just what we can do!”

Kevin Smith, the team principal at ATK Motorsports also commented on the new partnership “We see many drivers come across our desks as potential candidates to drive one of our trucks.  Most have amazing racing credentials, so when we interview these drivers we try to find individuals who have what we call ‘the intangibles’… some of the things that you won’t see on a racing resume.  Kristian has these intangibles… he has all the skills necessary to be successful on the racetrack, but also possesses the dedication, commitment and desire it takes to be successful in motorsports and life.  The racing way of life isn’t always pleasant and Kristian’s ability to overcome anything thrown his way is commendable.”

“When Kristian approached us about driving one of our ASA Speed Trucks in competition we couldn’t have been more thrilled.  This is business and we need success as much as the driver’s do who utilize this series as a springboard into the next level.  Kristian will be a great representative of ATK Motorsports and those organizations he has marketing relationships with.  On behalf of my entire team, we are extremely excited about working with Kristian on achieving success.”

G-Force Signs Canadian Racer, Malcolm Strachan for NASCAR Effort in 2009

Mooresville, NC (May 17th, 2009)  G-Force Motorsports Marketing, the motorsports arm of The Goddard Marketing Group is pleased to announce the signing of Canadian drivMalcolm Strachan podium finisher, Malcolm Strachan to their diverse lineup of competitors.

A highly experienced road racer, Strachan is making the transition to stock cars as he sets his sights on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCTS).   For the 2009 season, he is slated to drive the stock car events in Mosport and Montreal.  However, the young 25 year old is planning a full season assault on the NCTS in 2010.

Strachan, who has been racing since age ten, won multiple national karting events as well as the North American Karting Championships before switching over to sports car racing at the age of 16.

In addition to dozens of podium finishes in sports cars, Strachan has captured four championships and scored the runner up championship spot twice.  He was also named as Canadian Driver or the Year by the Canadian Race Communications Association, and was given a Civic Award by the Municipality of Prince Edward for charitable efforts related to his racing program.

“Malcolm is our first client beyond the borders of the United States, and I am personally excited about our ability to utilize new means of networking to expand into not only new geographical markets, but also new diverse divisions of motorsports” noted G-Force Motorsports Marketing CEO, Jeff Goddard.

“And I believe the most exciting attribute of Malcolm’s marketability is his success on the Canadian road courses.  In my opinion, he will advance faster than many young competitors thanks to his experience.  Like for example, Malcolm would be a ‘ringer’ for a NASCAR Nationwide Series team attempting to advance their owner points in the upcoming Circuit Gilles Villeneuve event at Montreal.  BUT, it does not end there… the same would apply for a KONI Challenge, Rolex, or even American Le mans Series team in search of a proven winner.  I would say his success is imminent; because it is quite obvious . . . this guy can drive.  And, with a résumé as impressive as Malcolm’s, I am certain he will be a valuable asset to the G-Force family of drivers.”

Strachan in the Konica Minolta CorvetteMalcolm Strachan commented on his new career developments “Motorsports is a big business.  In any business, marketing is crucial, and motorsports is no exception.  G-Force Motorsports Marketing has the experience and knowledge needed to succeed, and I am excited to work together with them.  Whether it is in NASCAR, sports cars or open-wheel, teaming up with G-Force Motorsports Marketing will ensure that the business side of my racing career will be a success.”

“I am really looking forward to making the transition this year into NASCAR from sports car racing.  Building on my efforts in Canadian GT1 and Koni Challenge in the past few years, I can't wait for this new challenge.  The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series has a lot of really strong drivers with strong teams, so I know I'll have to battle for every inch of track!”

Strachan continued “In professional racing, you need to surround yourself with professionals if you have any chance of success.  With Jeff Goddard as my agent, and the G-Force team working with me, I know I've got a professional team behind me as I climb the motorsports ladder.”

Malcolm Strachan is seeking partners and sponsors for his racing program in the 2009 season and beyond.  For partnership/sponsorship information, interview/personal appearance requests or a media kit, please contact Jeff Goddard at G-Force Motorsports Marketing @ 704.239.5553 or jeff@goddardmarketinggroup.com.  You can also visit www.goddardmarketinggroup.com to discover how your business can benefit from a partnership in motorsports.

Mooresville, NC (April 17th, 2009)  G-Force Motorsports Marketing, the motorsports arm of The Goddard Marketing Group officially announced the signing of up-and-coming African American professional race car driver Kristian Alexís.

With help from his father, the 26 year-old Alexís’ racing passion began in go-karts at the young age of 11.  However, his experience has grown to include experience in sports car and road course racing, open wheel and more recently off road trucks and late model stock cars.  The aspiring driver is hoping his experience will move him into a position as a competitor in one of NASCAR’s elite divisions.

G-Force Motorsports Marketing CEO, Jeff Goddard commented on signing of the new competitor; “We are very excited to be involved in marketing Kristian Alexís in mainstream motorsports.  He was brought to our attention via a partner and friend of GMG/GMM, Vicki James of Speedlox (www.speedlox.com).  Vicki seems to have her finger on the pulse of the networking community in motorsports and she insisted we take a look at this driver.  After doing a little research, I had to agree.”

“For the past eight years I have been working with development drivers and I am ecstatic to see what Kristian has to offer businesses with a desire to promote in the motorsports world.  His ability to show sponsors and partners the ”total package” exceeds some competitors who have been attempting to break into the sport for ten years.  This guy is hungry, and he keeps his schedule open, in an effort to give the media and his sponsors all the attention he can.  In fact, one of his most defining attributes is his ability to successfully interact with the media.  He can lay down a thirty minute interview without coaching, and keep the content flowing without skipping a beat.  He is perhaps the most confident, and “in touch” new driver that I have ever worked with”

He continued, “In just a few short years, Kristian has gone from a virtual unknown to possibly the hottest up and coming development driver in American motorsports.  We can also appreciate the fact that Kristian can reach new markets with urban youth and since he is a Type I Diabetic, he could also open the door, as a role model for health related partnerships.”

In 2009 Alexís is slated to drive the #41 Dodge Ram in the Off Road Racing Pro 2 division (Live on SPEED and NBC) and select races in the #7 Dodge Charger R/T in the NASCAR Camping World West Series (Live on HDNET) for Gene Woods Racing.  The humble young New York City native is also signed to co-drive endurance races for Signature Motorsports, an American Le Mans Series GT2 development team in an Aston Martin Vantage in 2010.

“When I think about all it takes to succeed in motorsports today, the element that comes to mind most often is teamwork.” stated Alexís when asked about his new partnership “Be it with your owner, crew chief, over-the-wall guys, and even your driver rep, teamwork is the difference between a last place standing and taking home a title, both on and off the track. I'll take care of what happens on race day between the green flag and the checkered but I need someone who works just as I hard as I do to create the best opportunities for me on the other six days of the week. I have found that and more in Jeff Goddard and the guys at G-Force Motorsports Marketing.  With Jeff's professionalism and his personal approach to each client, I not only feel like I've gained a very capable agent but also a friend. We have dedicated ourselves to bringing each other's goals to fruition and I'm excited about our partnership. I have set my sights high on making history by winning at the highest levels of NASCAR racing and am optimistic to use my uniqueness and versatility to do so. Considering the fact that Jeff has worked with some big names in our sport and that there's no lack of talent anywhere in the G-Force camp, I am more than confident that as a team we can put together a competitive program to showcase any sponsor in the most positive light in 2009 and beyond!”
